Our NEPGP family has lost one near and dear to us. Dot McDermott has been on our Board and served as our Secretary and worked her heart out at our shows wherever needed. You may remember her checking your badge before entering a seminar. We will have our own Memorial Service at the Fall Fest Friday, Oct 11th, 2013.
For those of you who have been asking about the funeral arrangements for Dorothy McDermott, nothing has been set up yet. It may just be a graveside service for family. Will let you know as soon as we have the info. Her four dogs are in foster care with a friend until we can get them up to date with their medical needs, then they will go to their new homes, and yes they have all been spoken for.
For those of you that would like to honor Dottie we have made arrangements with WINDHOVER Veterinary Clinic,944A Main St.,Walpole,MA,02081 for their care. You can make checks payable to W.V.C. ,and put McDermott dogs fund in the memo line.Put ATT:Joan on the bottom, front of the envelope. THANK YOU in advance for your kindness, Dottie would be sooo appreciative knowing her babies were being helped.

this is from Jerry’s wife, Sally 7/18/13…thanks to all who have kept Jerry and Sally in your thoughts and prayers:
“Sally here. I am writing on the tablet that Jerry’s bathhouse buddies gave him prior to surgery. Yesterday’s ICU nurse gave me a crash course. . . very helpful. Dr. Bilimoria, our wonderful surgeon, was in today and was quite impressed with Jerry’s progress. He attributes that partly to Jerry’s many previous surgeries and subsequent high tolerance level for pain (a mixed blessing), but also to his attitude. He is working very hard and doing whatever he can to hasten his recovery. Besides sitting in a chair and starting a new book, which not surprisingly is dog related, he went walking twice today with the aid of a walker. The first time the physical therapist provided support with a heavy white belt around his waist (think “webbed lead”); the second time the nurse went with him untethered. Also, his blood pressure seems to be holding in the normal range. We are quite pleased with the staff here at NCH. All the nurses and technicians are friendly, caring, efficient and responsive–enough so that Jerry is sending me home tonight so I can get some sleep. Another nice thing about this place is the airing on the intercom of a music box rendition of Brahm’s lullaby each time a baby is born; it’s really sweet.
It has come to our attention that Jerry Shinberg, the founder of the All American Grooming Show in Chicago needs our positive thoughts and prayers especially as July 16th approaches. .
